Bontril SR Review

Not an Overall Weight Loss Pill

Let’s face it.  No weight loss supplement is going to work if discipline is lacking. By discipline we mean starting – and staying – on a healthy diet without deviations whatsoever.  Discipline also means engaging in physical exercise regularly. It doesn’t mean swimming and playing tennis everyday for five days and then not doing any exercise for two weeks. You cannot afford to be erratic in your diet and exercise routine if  you want to lose those pounds slowly but surely.

Bontril and Bontril SR

Taking a weight loss supplement like Bontril SR as an additional aid to lose weight is a good idea.  Bontril SR is the “slow release” version of Bontril.

Another Appetite Surpressant

Contrary to popular belief, Bontril SR is not a tranquilizer or sedative. It is classified as an appetite suppressant so that people who take it feel less hungry.  Their brains are telling them that their stomachs are full.

Need of a Prescription

It is perhaps a good thing that Bontril SR cannot be purchased over the counter. You need a doctor’s prescription, and before he can prescribe it, he will have to determine whether you can take it safely or refrain from taking it. Bontril SR is usually prescribed to people who have a body-mass index (BMI) of 30 and up. But doctors don’t recommend it to people who are on anti-depressants or suffer from heart and circulatory disorders. It isn’t recommended to diabetics either. Those who have tried Bontril SR say that their weight loss has almost been immediate that they’re tempted to go on a binge or drink alcohol.  Don’t give in to that temptation because alcohol can cause dizziness in people who are taking Bontril SR.

The Side-Effects

Side effects like a dry mouth, stomach upset, anxiety, insomnia and other inconveniences can occur but only at the beginning. If these side effects don’t disappear after the first few weeks, tell your doctor.  You must ask your doctor for guidance when you feel it’s time for you to stop taking Bontril SR because a sudden stop can bring about withdrawal symptoms.

Usage

Bontril SR is usually taken with a full glass of water about an hour before meals and four to five hours before bedtime.  Swallow the tablets whole, not ground or crushed. Do not take it if you’re going to drive or operate a machine, and don’t take coffee or tea while on Bontril SR. Taking Bontril isn’t safe for people who have high blood pressure, glaucoma, heart disease or a history of drug use. Note:  Phendimetrazine, a chemical, is the generic form of some weight loss supplements, of which Bontril SR is one.  Bontril is available as a slow-release or rapid release weight loss supplement.
