What is the Chicken Soup Diet?

The chicken soup diet was brought down by the belief that the chicken soup contains a lot of properties that are beneficial for the overall health.  There are variations to the chicken soup among different cultures. Many cultures like to put a lot of greens hence creating a soup that is both delicious and full of nutrients.

The chicken soup diet is merely a food that contains beneficial ingredients, however, it should not replace normal foods like steaks, eggs, bacon and carrots which also contain good ingredients. Infact the diet does not make any claims as to how much weight will be lost however a substantial amount of weight can be lost. This diet is to be followed for a period of seven consecutive days.

Obesity is a risk factor that may lead to type II diabetes. The chicken soup diet reduces these risks as it allows the dieter to eliminate a large amount of weight in a short period of time. That is why your doctor might recommend the chicken soup if you are obese. This diet allows the dieter to feel full without consuming much calories.

Vitamins and Minerals are needed for healthy adults each day and the chicken soup diet contains these nutrients, however, a person is very restricted in this diet. It should not be taken by women who are pregnant or breast feeding, as it is a very restrictied diet and can cause harm to the health of the child.
