Zone Diet
What is the Zone Diet?
This diet was created by Barry Sears which is a low carbohydrate diet. The meals are all skillfully prepared to balance carbohydrates, protein and fat in a ratio of 40-30-30, respectively. The diet claims that this is the proper balance of food which helps regulate you body's insulin production.
Surprisingly, the zone diet does not limit you choice of food, just the proportion of the meal. Snacks are aloud. The Zone Diet advocates are mainly meat eaters, however, the diet emphasizes losing weight. Also emphasizing cardiovascular health, insulin regulation and other preventions to chronic ailments.
In this diet, you will notice from the ratio that the proteins do not exceed the carbohydrates. That isn't to say that everything is easy with the diet as the dieters are to follow their caloric consumption to not exceed 500 and their snack not exceeding 100.
The American Heart Association does not recommend the Zone Diet for weight loss, as they view it as containing high-protein. On the bright side, it contains enough fruits and vegetables to result of lowering cholesterol. The diet also encourages for people to excercise along with the diet. It's rather expensive and you need a special recipe.
In our opinion this diet isn't a cure for all weight loss as the premise is, that the body will follow with the specific ratio regardless of the dieters composition and overall health.
